Entercom Happens...to be buying CBS Radio
News broke today that Entercom is buying the CBS Radio stations and will expand to a whole bunch of markets. In Boston it means both major sports stations (WEEI-FM and WBZ-FM) will no doubt be under the same corporate roof; ditto news talkers WRKO and WBZ AM.

Keep in mind Howie doesn't work for Entercom anymore. He has his own network and WRKO is an affiliate of his. Still, what does it mean? I don't think Howie's show will move to AM 1030, no, but:

--Some wonder if WBZ newsradio may land on an FM home like 103.3

--Would Entercom decide to keep Sports Hub and make WEEI-FM perhaps a hybrid of news-talk and some sports, like Sox games? Howie is on the HD 2 of WEEI 93.7.
Would he wind up on the regular signal?

"Do stay tuned"

I don't know if Ent would be getting rid of WRKO but if iHeart got it they could keep some local shows incl Howie but also run Rush, etc. Most iHeart shows like Hannity would run delayed...right now they have WKOX 1430, a weak signal..or maybe iHeart could get 850.Most likely Ent would get rid of FMs.
