Bumper Music on the Howie Carr Show
Figured this might be an interesting thread - coming up with a list of the bumper songs used on the show. Theme: Non of the songs are from this century.

Current
Never Gonna Give You Up - Rick Astley
Tax Man - Beatles
White Room - Cream
Break On Through - Doors
The Final Countdown - Europe
No Time - Guess Who
Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns N' Roses
Brother Louie - Hot Chocolate
Boom Boom - John Lee Hooker
Carry On Wayward Son - Kansas
The Ocean - Led Zeppelin
What Is And What Should Never Be - Led Zeppelin
Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
That Smell - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Hungry Freaks, Daddy - The Mothers of Invention
Jackie Blue - Ozark Mountain Daredevils
Another Brick In The Wall Part II - Pink Floyd
Paranoid Android - Radiohead
You - Radiohead
Gimme Shelter - Rolling Stones
Miss You - Rolling Stones
Paint it Black - Rolling Stones
Satisfaction - Rolling Stones
Under My Thumb - Rolling Stones
Dirty Water - Standells

Creedence Clearwater Revival

Former
Think I'm in Love - Beck
Dear Mr. President - Fitz & The Tantrums (Sandy's choice; Howie demanded its removal).
I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry - Hank Williams Sr. (in the rotation when they first went independent, but haven't heard in a long time).

A few times he has used The Mothers of Invention's "Hungry Freaks, Daddy".

CARR mentioned he hand picks the music himself.
This one he uses has been one of my favorites of all time too.
"JACKIE BLUE by Ozark Mountain Daredevils"
Actually took in a stray Maine coon cat in very poor condition 10 years ago and named him Jackie Blue. Alive and well today

Going waaaay back 24-25 years now but i can recall like it was yesterday he mentioned his liked 'Borderline' by Madonna although it is not one of his sections as a bumper music.

I was wondering what that song was...never heard it before, outside of the clip they bump with.

How old are you? Just wondering, because if you're say, over 45, I'd be surprised if it wasn't familiar. One little trivia tidbit: That's not a female singing. And an admittedly dumb running gag of mine on music boards is whenever hipster types profess their OMD fandom, I chime in with "I love that song of theirs, 'Jackie Blue'".

I'm a product of the first Reagan term, so a good decade after that song came out!

I do suspect Howie didn't hand pick all of the bumper music, as I have a hard time believing he's a Radiohead fan (two of their songs are in the current rotation), being that their music was made after 1990, and that he refers to such music as "glue sniffing music."

Welcome aboard!

I've noticed the rotation has changed since Steve took over as lead producer this month.
