Maybe it's phase two of the burgeoning HC media empire.
Sounds like she's sticking with the HC show nom de plume.

Sandy has a great voice for radio. I saw the email alert too. I wish her well, but I don't really get to listen to that time-slot (I have "job-lock" LOL) but if I can, I will giver her show a shot.

It will be interesting to see how her ratings face up against Kuhner in the same slot. I am guessing a lot of Howie's fans will tune into her show at the beginning.

I wish her well. She's a great gal.

I heard a few minutes in the latter part of the first hour.

Did she talk about her departure from the Howie Carr Show at all?

No mention on Howie's show today, at least when I was listening.

I wonder if WMEX has much of a future? I'm not even seeing them in the Boston radio market ratings. I think it was under previous management at the time, but I recall reading or hearing that they weren't able to pay Howie.

Longtime multi-media Bostonian Sandy Shack is named producer of "The Howie Carr Show" on Talk WMEX-AM/Boston from 12-3pm weekdays. Shack is an award winning broadcaster with over 20 years' of experience in the Boston local, New England regional and nation markets. She is best known as the Executive Producer of the syndicated "The Howie Carr Show."

It looks like, in addition to mangling the story, they did a Google image search and took the first thing that came up (a completely unrelated article that contains the words "Sandy" and "Shack"), and cropped an image from here: http://www.newtownbee.com/node/128753

Here's an archived copy of the picture in case they fix it. Smile http://s27.postimg.org/ci10hjykf/Sandy_Shack_Large.gif

Interesting...her intro song (Dear Mr. President) is the song Howie demanded to have removed from his bumper rotation earlier last year.

She seemed to speak politely of Howie in the intro, but her telling of the events makes it sound like she left the show, *then* was offered in the WMEX gig. I wonder if the show wasn't living up to her expectations? I recall her being a bit upset on air earlier this year when Howie told a caller they were on with he and VB (but did not mention her).

I do not think there is any animosity between Howie and Sandy. Howie probably encouraged her to develop a new career move foreseeing he is likely to retire within the next five years and does not want to leave her out in the cold without employment. At WMEX she can gain talk show experience. Who knows, she may be back at WRKO someday.
